Effect of Bitumen Production Process and Mix Heating Temperature on the Rheological Properties of Hot Recycled Mix Asphalt

چکیده
Heavy traffic loads require the replacement of damaged pavements, so a huge amount reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) material is now available and must be recycled in order to avoid landfill achieve both environmental economic benefits. The most common profitable solution reuse RAP associated with hot recycling technique, as it allows recovering solid binding components RAP. Several factors influence performance mix (HRMA). Among those, this paper focuses on role played by origin virgin bitumen, i.e. oil-distillation process, mixing temperature adopted during HRMA production. objective was evaluate rheological properties mixtures produced using high (50%), two different rejuvenators, temperatures (140 °C or 170 °C) neat bitumen types derived from distillation processes (visbreaker straight-run). results showed that addition led an increase dynamic modulus decrease phase angle, while use rejuvenators partly tended rebalance these characteristics. visbreaker higher sensitivity short-term aging than straight-run, determining stiffness lower viscous features. also determined complex reduction angle result mobilization aged

Modification of the Properties of Warm Mix Asphalt Using Recycled Plastic Bottles
Construction of flexible pavements with hot mix asphalt (HMA) mixtures consumes huge energy which impacts the resources and the environment of the world. Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) is an effective alternative as they produced with lower mixing and compaction temperature than those used in HMA production. This technology decreases energy consumption, saves money, and reducing the environmental pollu...
متن کاملPerformance of Recycled Asphalt Shingles in Hot Mix Asphalt: TPF-5(213)
US transportation agencies have been increasingly using recycled asphalt shingles (RAS) in hot mix asphalt (HMA) applications over the last 25 years. Initial use of RAS started with recycled postmanufacturers shingles, but now agencies are showing a growing interest in using post-consumer (tear-off) RAS in asphalt applications. Post-consumer asphalt shingles typically have 20 to 30 percent asph...
